Are you ready to accept the AS/NZS 61439 switch standard?

AS/NZS 61439 is a series of low-voltage switchgear and control equipment component standards, driven by the international IEC version, but with specific notes related to Australia and New Zealand. The 61439 series helps meet the portability needs between Australian and international suppliers.

AS/NZS 61439 replaced the AS/NZS 3439 series in 2016. The transition period is 5 years and will expire in May 2021. You can build according to any standard until May 2021. With the release of AS/NZS 3000 Amendment 2 (also known as "wiring rules"), it is mandatory to use the AS/NZS 61439 series for switchboard components.

NHP's Cubic Modular switchboard system and Concept switchboard will ensure you meet the new standards.

As the only switchboard company independent of the switchgear brand, CUBIC is representative in the IEC committee, so it has a deep understanding of the new IEC 61439 standard. NHP was able to use this experience to conduct local tests on the NHP concept panel series.

The 61439 series of standards require verification of the assembly design. The verification mainly includes two aspects:

This ensures that the components have been built correctly and checked before shipment. (For example, check electrical connections)

This ensures that the design meets the relevant requirements of the specified or manufactured component standard. This can be one of the following three methods:

61439 Series Part 1 Appendix D Table D.1 or Part 3 Item 10 shows the characteristics that must be verified for more than 13 components. Each feature should have a supporting test report to confirm verification. Some examples of characteristics include clearance, temperature rise, short-circuit tolerance, protection level (IP rating), and mechanical operation.

All CUBIC AS/NZS 61439 tests are independently conducted by DEKRA laboratories for unbiased verification.

The NHP CUBIC modular system is based on the concept of effectively using standard components to construct a custom switchboard to meet your individual project requirements. The system has undergone an independent IEC 61439 verification test, so all documents are directly applicable to the AS/NZS 61439 "Original Manufacturer" verification requirements, without the need for expensive local testing.

NHP trains, certifies, and technically supports all CUBIC assembly manufacturing partners through a special CUBIC global training program to ensure the high quality and uniformity of global CUBIC switchboards.

The NHP CUBIC modular switchboard system meets the needs of all your applications, including:

NHP's smart power distribution system provides:

Consultants can obtain high-quality solutions that represent your company through well-known brands with a history of safety and reliability.

End users can enjoy long-term peace of mind through sustainable solutions from a well-documented global system.

The concept series of switchboards has been designed and tested according to Part 2 and Part 3 of 61439. All cataloged switchboards up to 250A are suitable for Part 3, while 400A models are suitable for Part 2.

NHP has used third-party Nata-approved test laboratories (such as TÜV Rheinland Australia Pty. Ltd. and NHP internal test stations) to conduct comprehensive tests.

NHP has exceeded the requirements of the standard to ensure the maximum safety and reliability of the product. A key example of this is the short-circuit withstand test of complete components with various circuit protection devices, with fault levels ranging from 10kA to 63kA (using external upstream equipment for backup).

NHP has a wide variety of switchboard models, if you need the switchboard urgently, you can quickly turn around.

Some standard off-the-shelf configurations include:

Concept Panelboards provides value-added solutions that are based on standard Concept Panelboard designs and built to your specifications. NHP's XPD software allows these designs to be developed quickly, further reducing the turnaround time from inquiry to supply.

An important feature of the 61439 series of standards is to verify that the entire assembly meets the requirements. If you start to make additions or changes to the design, the person performing the work will be responsible for the changed design and need to ensure that the updated components are verified to comply with the 61439 standard-the original manufacturer is no longer responsible.

Using the concept panel, multiple additions or changes can be made to the cataloging configuration so that the components still conform to the standard.
