By adopting new detection technology, type B RCCB's size is reduced while it's expanding its functions. 

Normal CT can only detect AC, instead of smooth DC. So another detection device needs to be added to detect smooth DC. Two different detection devices in our type B RCCB are used to test AC/A type residual current and B type residual current. A voltage dependent detection way is used for AC/A type residual current, it could operate when there is fault in power voltage. Controlled inductor is used to test B type residual current, the electronic controlled circuit should be powered, so the detection is power voltage independent. But its work voltage is wide, the min operated is AC30V, which ensures the stability of the residual current detection under low power. 

Type B RCCB can not only detect AC fault current, DC pulsing and smooth DC fault current, but also sinus wave AC fault current at a high frequency up to 1kHz. RCCB with a rated residual current 30-300mA trips at no more than 300mA at a high frequency, while RCCB with a rated residual current 500mA trips at 500mA at a high frequency. So type B RCCB can protect high frequency circuit up to 1K Hz, which avoids the electrical fire and the danger of indirect contacts under this environment, in addition to normal RCCB's basic functions.
