Huntersville, North Carolina, November 9, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Atom Power, the world’s first and only manufacturer of UL-certified solid-state digital circuit breakers, announced the hiring of top IoT engineers , In order to improve the safety and connectivity of its technology to make full use of available energy resources to provide smart energy management for enterprises, electric vehicles, multi-family houses and households. The core purpose of Atom Power is to provide infrastructure solutions that can achieve all electrification.

Mark Ford joined Atom Power in September as its chief firmware architect. Ford has an extensive background in firmware, software, hardware, and full-stack development. In his previous position at Duke Energy, Mark was a senior IoT engineer responsible for the development of edge computing and hardware. Prior to this, Mark was Thorlo's Chief Technology Officer, where he implemented engineering solutions covering a wide range of process control, data collection, workshop automation, and integration with ERP platforms such as SAP and NetSuite.

Matt Deese joined Atom Power in the summer of 2021 as the Vice President of Engineering. Deese established an intelligent lighting control business within Cree Lighting, established a full-stack software development team, and introduced market-disruptive lighting control and IoT systems. His team launched the company's first connected lighting products for the residential and commercial markets, as well as the first Internet of Things (IoT) solutions for commercial indoor office, education, and healthcare customers.

"In order to'electrify everything' and use more clean energy, utilities and home builders are looking for solutions to provide unparalleled access, visibility and control to the critical loads behind the meters, to achieve demand response, and to distribute Seamless integration into the integrated energy," said Mike Harris, CTO of Atom Power. "The circuit breaker is a technology at the edge of the grid that can manage all of these. Now, Atom Power has the industry’s top Internet of Things talents, which can completely subvert the Edison era analog market and replace it with solid-state digital circuit breakers to complete our power system. Digitalization paves the way."

Atom Power’s IoT leadership team is Tim Strunck, Director of Software Engineering. Strunck has more than 15 years of experience in the design, implementation and management of connection systems. During his time at Bosch, he created and staffed a software, firmware, hardware, and quality assurance engineer department for Bosch's architectural grid technology department.

Ford, Deese, and Strunck operate under the leadership of Chief Technology Officer Mike Harris, who joined Atom Power in 2019. Harris has worked with Lockheed Martin, Cisco, and other companies over the past three decades to transform the market in industries such as telecommunications, industrial systems, and lighting. Kerry. The development team led by Harris has made Cree a leader in the LED lighting market.

Atom Power's circuit breakers paved the way for a fully digital power system, which is vital to our clean energy future. Use the Atom Insight app to control and monitor the circuit breaker on a smartphone or computer. The user can virtually see the electrical panel and each circuit breaker on the screen. From their screens, users can see the current, voltage and power consumption, can turn the device on and off, and can use software to change the physical characteristics of the circuit breaker. For example, a user can use a smartphone or computer to change a 100 amp circuit breaker to 90, 70, 60, or 15 amps. Because Atom Power embeds all these functions in its circuit breakers, the solution eliminates the need to purchase additional meters, controls, communications, and software for each device.

Atom Power originally developed and sold power distribution and management for commercial and industrial facilities, and announced its expansion into the residential and electric vehicle charging market in July 2021. Atom Power's technology has been recognized and invested by well-known technology and start-up companies, including Next47, ABB, Eaton, Rockwell, and Valor Equity Partners.

About Atom Power Atom Power invented the world's first and only commercial solid-state digital circuit breaker with UL certification. The Atom Power smart electrical product suite, designed and manufactured in North Carolina, includes a digital circuit breaker, a customizable switchboard, and a personalized software solution that can fully control and customize electrical for commercial and industrial, electric vehicle, and residential applications infrastructure.
