April 24, 2018 — Noark Electric stated that its UL 489 B1NQ miniature circuit breakers can now directly replace ordinary MCBs when used with optional surface mount.

The circuit breaker offers three types of curves (B, C and D), ranging from 0.5 to 63A, complies with UL/CSA/IEC standards, and is suitable for branch circuit protection in commercial and residential applications.

The company stated that it is designed and manufactured specifically for the HVAC market and is also suitable for a range of industrial applications and other component sub-component designs. The current-limiting B1NQ has thermo-magnetic characteristics to prevent short circuits and overloads. 1-pole and 2-pole circuit breakers provide 120/240 Vac to provide protection for branch and control circuits.

The surface mount accessory matches the existing bolt hole pattern of ordinary MCB, no additional drilling is required. The B1NQ was placed on the surface mount and clicked into place.
